The
Sooke Film Society sponsored the First Annual Film Video and New Media Festival
in Sooke in 2000. Since then, the festival has been produced by DMG and held
in Victoria at the Convention center in 2001 and Pearks Arena in 2002 Our objective
is to promote and encourage screenwriters, videographers and all those who make
independent productions, in any genre, including feature films, animation, documentaries
and short films. This was an opportunity for works to be viewed and accepted by
the powers that be, within the local Canadian and international film community.
