British Columbia is the third largest film production region in North America. This growth in the film industry has lead the Canadian Government to introduce tax incentives for productions outside of the lower mainland and the Vancouver area. The southwest tip of Vancouver Island and other areas of BC are prime film production locations, taking full advantage of this Government tax break.

BC has a populace with high technical capabilities in film and video pre and post production, new media scripting and animation. BC also has a variety in locations, terrain, weather conditions, and settings. Ecofilms and bluescreen productions have flourished here.

This site is an openly linked database of film locations, props and talent with special emphasis on independent film producers and film festivals.
